Stacey Hartman is an experienced yoga educator and the founder of Branches of Yoga, where she is dedicated to creating safe, inclusive, and empowering environments for personal growth and teacher development. Her work is rooted in the belief that yoga is not just a physical practice, but a pathway to resilience, self-awareness, and sustainable wellbeing.
Stacey's yoga journey began 15 years ago through her own healing process with depression and anxiety. Through consistent practice, she experienced firsthand yoga's ability to support nervous system regulation, emotional healing, and personal transformation. This experience continues to inform her compassionate, student-centered teaching approach.
She holds her RYT-500 certification after completing her 200-hour training at Blue Heron Wellness and her advanced 300-hour certification at The Yoga Center of Columbia. Stacey has pursued extensive continuing education in trauma-informed yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Yin Yoga, and supportive teaching methodologies that prioritize accessibility, agency, and psychological safety in yoga spaces.
As a trauma-informed educator, Stacey integrates principles of choice, empowerment, interoceptive awareness, and nervous system education into both her public classes and teacher trainings. She is particularly passionate about helping teachers understand how to create environments that support regulation, safety, and student autonomy.
Stacey has also expanded her specialty into strength training for women in perimenopause and midlife, incorporating kettlebell training and functional strength work to support bone density, metabolic health, joint stability, and longevity. Her work bridges traditional yoga with modern movement science to help women remain strong, capable, and confident throughout hormonal transitions.
Within teacher training programs, Stacey teaches trauma-informed methodology, nervous system awareness, pranayama, meditation, and sustainable teaching practices. She is known for mentoring teachers to develop authentic voice, ethical boundaries, and professional confidence while maintaining compassion and scope of practice.
Through all of her work, Stacey's mission is to help both students and teachers feel empowered, resilient, and connected — not only on the mat, but in their everyday lives.
